DRC Lifeguard Certification Course Scholarships
The Derby Recreation Commission is passionate about making our programs accessible to all. Through previous funding provided by the Derby Community Foundation, we award needs-based Lifeguard Certification Scholarships to individuals whose intent is to work at Rock River Rapids and the Derby Recreation Center for the upcoming season. If selected, this scholarship will give the participant a great opportunity to attend and, if successful, receive a Lifeguard Certification that is valid for two years. Please note: The only scholarship currently available is this needs-based option, which is limited to individuals with an approved 100% or 50% DRC Scholarship.

Rock River Rapids Application
Applications for the 2026 season for Managers are due in early January 2026 with interviews in February. Rock River Rapids Job Fair for Lifeguards, Guest Services, and Maintenance for the 2026 season are March 12 and April 10 from 6pm-9pm at the DRC.
