Lifeguard Review Course
The purpose of a review is to give individuals the opportunity to review the course content within a formal course setting. The review course optimizes a participants’ ability to successfully complete the knowledge and skill evaluations. Each participant should have the opportunity to view video segments, practice and perform skills for evaluation and complete the final written exam(s) for the course being reviewed. Individuals with a current Lifeguarding / First Aid / CPR / AED certification may participate in a review course.
Water Safety Instructor
The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course certifies candidates to teach swimming and water safety courses. Provides instructor candidates with the training they need to plan and conduct courses within the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program. This course covers teaching progressions, course and lesson planning, recognizing common skill errors, providing corrective feedback, motor learning and hydrodynamic principles. Pre-requisites include; must be 16 at the last date of the class, successful completion of preliminary knowledge and skill test, and demonstrate correct form in swimming all six traditional strokes.
Lifeguard Instructor Course
Lifeguard Instructor Training will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level Lifeguarding, CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Blood-borne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue courses. Students must be at least 17 years of age on or before the last scheduled day of the class and possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding / First Aid certificate or have successfully completed a Red Cross Lifeguarding course and complete the following prerequisites:
