Derby Walks encourages Derby area residents to walk or engage in other physical activity at least 30 minutes each day.  Join today by printing out and completing the Derby Walks Pledge Form and logging your physical activity with the Derby Walks Tracking Calendar. During inclement weather registered walkers may use the Derby Recreation Center's track free of charge.

Derby Walk Leader Program
Our bodies are designed to move and walking is one of the easiest forms of physical activity. The Derby Health Collaborative is developing a voluntary Walk Leader training program. If you like to walk and enjoy socializing then we want to talk with you. As a Walk Leader you could be instrumental in transforming the health and wellness of your neighborhood and the Derby community as a whole. Walking, particularly in pleasant surroundings, and with other people, offers many opportunities for relaxation and social contact. People walk for many reasons – for pleasure, as transportation, to experience the outdoors, to socialize, to lessen the effects of chronic health conditions, to address environmental concerns. Hiking & Biking

Need a path to walk or looking for a new course? Derby has 25 miles of hike and bike paths waiting for you. You can pick up a map of these paths at the Derby Recreation Center. Maps are also published in the Spring and Fall Derby Recreation Commission Program Guides or can be downloaded.
