The Derby Recreation Commission is currently seeking people for the following positions: _____________________________________ SUMMER POSITION: Part-time Youth Recreation Coordinator Approximately 15 hours during school and 20 hours during summer camp. Must be 18 years of age. QUALIFICATIONS: Responsible person with a genuine interest in the promotion of a recreation program. Must enjoy working with young people. Ability to manage time effectively, take initiative, communicate, manage behavior and be organized. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for coordinating a comprehensive after-school program (normally 2:30–5:30 pm) and summer camp (normally 11 am–3 pm) recreation program daily from Monday - Friday. Conduct various after-school recreation programs /activities designed to build constructive social skills for children at Cooper and Oaklawn Elementary school. Programs will include team and individual sports, arts and crafts, games and other skill building activities. Coordinators will model appropriate behavior and teach social skills.
