Are you searching for a way to exercise that feels more like having fun than working out? Then try water fitness. Almost anyone can do water fitness and it meets the demands of almost any exercise program.

Please check in at the Control Desk on your way to the pool. Please remove earrings and necklaces, discard chewing gum and take a neck to toe shower prior to entering the pool.

Water fitness is the wave of the future.  You don’t have to get your hair wet or ruin your makeup.  Almost anyone can participate in water fitness, you stay cooler, have improved circulation, less impact on joints, and meet the requirements of most exercise programs.  A variety of classes are offered for different fitness levels and needs.  Don’t be fooled by the advantages of water into thinking these classes are easy; let our instructors challenge you.  Check in at the Control Desk on your way to the pool.  Please remove earrings and necklaces, discard chewing gum and take a neck to toe shower prior to entering pool.

AEROBIC WAVES

This shallow water class provides a great cardiovascular workout, increased flexibility, and enhanced strength without stress on your joints.  Water provides resistance to movement while it assists your circulatory system and cools you.  Whether you’re an experienced swimmer or non-swimmer, fit or getting in shape, you’ll enjoy the benefits of water exercise.

 

H2O-ROBICS

The challenge of deep water awaits.  This non-impact workout will take you to the depths of fitness training.  The focus is on cardiovascular and strength training using various equipment and movements.  Basic deep water skills necessary.

 

SPLASHING SENIORS

Slow the effects of aging with a unique water exercise class specifically designed for those 60 & older.  Add life to your years and years to your life. Swimming skills are not necessary to enjoy the qualities of water.  Written physician’s approval required.

 

SPLASHING LIGHT

Two days just aren’t enough?  Now Aqua Light and Splashing Seniors participants have the extra class they requested.  You will be able to work on your flexibility, strength, and fitness before the weekend hits.

 

AQUA LIGHT

The water is perfect people who have conditions that inhibit them from regular  exercise.  Whether you have arthritis, are recovering from a knee injury or have a bad back, this class can offer you moderately paced exercise to sustain or improve muscular mobility and joint range of motion.  Exercises focus on flexibility and strength and include a short cardiovascular section.  Written physician’s approval required for medical conditions.  Whereas this class may be  considered “therapeutic in nature”, it is not considered therapy.

FOR YOUR ABS ONLY!

Are you tired of the same old thing?  Add a new dimension and target your abdominal muscle group.  Anyone can add this half-hour class specifically to tone their abs.  Add on the abs-only workout.  Our instructor will crunch your abs into shape!

 

AQUA PUMP

Wanting to add some strength training to your aerobic routine?  Add an extra half hour of Aqua Pump!  Water is excellent for strength training because it resists all muscle movement.  A variety of equipment and tempos will be used to increase the weight of your arms and legs as they move through the water.  Add in the cooling and increased circulation benefits of a water workout and you will find one of the best strength training workouts available.

 

PUMPING WATER

Looking for variety in your strength and conditioning workouts?  Water is an excellent medium for strength training because it resists all muscle movement.  A variety of equipment and tempos will be used to increase the weight of your arms and legs as they move through the water.  Add in the cooling and increased circulation benefits of a water workout and you will find one of the best strength training workouts available.  Take the plunge and try Pumping Water!

 

WEEKEND WORKOUT

Get your weekend started right—jump into the pool for a refreshing workout on Saturday mornings.  A variety of FRC staff instructors will get your motivated with new and exciting exercises.  This is a great opportunity to try a different instructor.  Don’t stay home and miss out on the fun—get that extra workout you need.  No pre-registration is required, just show up ready to get into shape!
