If a class is missed because of bad weather or illness of instructor, a make-up class will be added to the end of the session.  If, however, you are unable to attend a class, we will not provide a make-up class for that day for individuals.

CARVE ‘N’ CHAT

DECORATIVE PAINTING SERIES

FAUX FINISHING

Faux finishing techniques from A to Z!  The artists of Studio Five, a fine arts studio specializing in quality faux finishes and trompe l’oeil murals in residential homes, will be team teaching this exciting series of classes covering everything from basic wall treatments to Venetian Plaster techniques.  Sign up for one, two, or all five-but we recommend that students take Session I for basic techniques that will be used in the later sessions.

Session I: Faux Finishing Fundamentals

Basic faux wall treatments and creating background treatments for stenciling and other techniques.  Discover how to save money by learning how to adapt standard materials like the pros do, rather than buying high-priced specialty products designed for the faux industry.

Session II: Stenciling

Learn the ins and outs of producing quality stencil designs-including how to create your own designs or adapt commercial stencils.  Includes an intro to methods for using stencils and materials.

Session III: Folk Finishes

Learn about the methods and materials of traditional folk art finishes.  This session will introduce vinegar painting, decoupage, and collage-truly beautiful and unique surface treatments for any project.

Session IV: Mosaic

Students will learn about the different types of mosaics, materials used, and different methods for producing a faux mosaic piece.

Session V: Venetian Plaster

Learn how to add texture to any project!  This is a new technique that will give you a chance to experiment with this fascinating product.  This is the only session where we will be using specific products.  A quart of Venetian Plaster will be available for $9.00.

Blending techniques, color theory, and design elements will be covered in this class for the beginning or advanced student.

BEAD JEWELRY

SHIMMY INTO SHAPE BELLY DANCE STYLE      

Our instructor teaches Mid-Eastern Belly Dance with style and precise technique.  Consists of stretching and isolated muscle movement with intro to costumes and props.  Intermediate must have previously completed at least three sessions.  End of session performance.
